Gap Ministries

In the early phases of our Love INC’s development, we identified three priority needs: financial counseling and support, access to quality used furniture, and affordable auto repair for low income and single parent households.

Volunteers are needed to help develop these gap ministries.

Life Coaching Classes and Mentoring

Living Large for Real - 12 week series offered three times per year. This Thursday evening program offers a wide variety of spiritual growth and life skills options taught by a variety of instructors. Child care is provided for participants.

Budget Counseling and Mentoring - a basic budgeting class is offered the first Tuesday of each month from 10:00 a.m. - noon. Classes on budgetting, banking and frugal living are offered as part of Livign Large for Real curriculum. Individual mentoring is available upon request.

Employment Initiative - Job search training and coaching is offered on an individual basis. Classes on career exploration, job applications, resume development and interviewing are offered as part of Living Large for Real curriculum.

Furniture Ministry

Furniture donations are being accepted and matched with needy families. Efforts are underway to develop a furniture bank which will provide free furniture for the most needy and low cost items for those who can afford to pay.

Transportation Ministry

Reliable transporation can change everything for an individual or family trying to escape poverty. Car donations are being accepted and matched with those in need who are attempting to seek or maintain employment. Car repairs are occasionally provided to individuals or families who are involved in our life skills programs. Donated bicycles are also accepted and repaired as we have volunteers available.

Volunteers are matched (as available) to provide rides to appointments and assist individuals with learning to ride the city bus.

We hope to expand our transporation ministry in the future by matching those in need of repairs with participating mechanics who offer discounted services. We will also like to expand our bicycle repair capability as part of the furniture bank/resale shop.
